How to buy

If you wish to buy an item you have seen on our site we first of all need to confirm the item is still available. Please use the form below to submit your enquiry. Please state your location so that we may advise a guideline postal charge

Once we have confirmed the item is available and the price including postage is agreed you may pay using one of the following methods. Please DO NOT make payment until you have recieved confirmation. Please be aware that due to insurance specifications we cannot take responsibility for items lost or damaged in post if the customer does not agree to pay for appropriate postal methods, e.g., tracked, signed for, special courier etc; which ever is appropriate for the particular item/s. We will of course source the most economical and efficient courier for your requirements
Please note that customers are responsible for any import taxes that be levied by their country's custom's office

Insurance

We use specialist London based antique insurers and we include this service FREE of charge to our customers, both international and UK based

Returns Policy

If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, Northern Antiques will be happy to refund, subject to the following conditions

1. The customer must notify Northern Antiques within 2 days of receipt of their purchase

2. The customer is responsible for all shipping costs, duty or other charge applicable to the return, (except in the rare event of loss or damage during shipping)

3. The item is returned in the same condition as it was received (Where applicable)

4. The item is received by us no later than 14 days after customer receipt of the item. Note: If it is not possible to return the item in the specified time due to special circumstances, Northern Antiques reserve the right to decide whether to negotiate a date for the return of the item

5. In the event of the item/s being lost or stolen in post we will liaise with the insurers to claim any monies due to the customer. On receipt of payment from the insurer the refund will be paid immediately to the customer. *Due to insurance specifications we cannot guarantee a refund if the customer does not agree to the cost of the item being shipped appropriately. Postal prices vary according to size, weight, contents and destination of the package. In respect of damaged items, the item must be in our receipt before a refund can be issued

6. All refunds will be made by the same method in which payment was made

Our commitment to customer satisfaction

We work hard to ensure customer satisfaction and describe our items as clearly as possbile so that nothing is misrepresented. With regard to shipping, we realise that sometimes accidents may happen and for this reason we always package our items securely in order to try and eliminate the risk of damage. In the event of damage happening and to ensure proper compensation is paid by the insurer it is essential that a suitable method of postage is paid for by the customer that provides the required documentation for the insurer. We will provide prices and details of postage on request.

We have no control over items being lost or stolen and for this reason we advise that in order to claim a refund customers should agree to a form of postage that will provide the insurer with documentation that the item was shipped and not received; please refer to point 5 above.

In the rare event of a refund being requested Northern Antiques will always endeavour to work with the customer to bring the matter to an acceptable and amicable conclusion.
